Calibri;Calibri; \*Riched20 10.0.22621 **Title: The Beacon from Uranus** --- **Scene: Terra Form Inc. Headquarters, Mars Colony Alpha** Director Eleanor Sloane stood at the window of her office, the sprawling colony below a testament to Terra Form Inc.s influence. She sipped her coffee, her mind racing with logistical challengesand the growing restlessness of the outer colonies. A sharp knock at the door interrupted her thoughts. "Enter," she said without turning. Chief Strategist Vance strode in, followed by Dr. Patel, Terra Forms head engineer. Both men carried tablets, their faces grim. "Director, weve intercepted a signal," Vance began. "It appears to be a beacon." Sloane turned, setting her mug down. "A beacon? From where?" "From Uranus," Patel replied, handing her his tablet. "We decoded it this morning. Its broadcasting on an outdated Terra Form frequencyone assigned to Transpermia II." Sloanes eyebrows lifted. "That mission vanished years ago. Youre certain this is from them?" "Nearly certain," Patel said. "The signal carries signatures unique to their equipment. But theres more. The beacon is transmitting data logs, including coordinates and requests for help." Sloanes sharp gaze locked onto Patel. "What kind of help?" "Survival-related," Vance said, stepping in. "The logs indicate some of the crew survived a crash landing on Uranus. Theyve been stranded, and theyre not alone." "Not alone?" Sloane repeated. Her voice was calm, but the weight of her words made the air feel heavier. "According to the logs," Patel continued, "the crew encountered intelligent life. The Uranians." For a moment, Sloane said nothing, letting the information settle. Then she moved to her desk and sat down, her expression unreadable. "Weve always theorized that Uranus might harbor life," she said finally. "But intelligent life That changes everything." "It does," Vance agreed. "And not just scientifically. If the Uranians are as advanced as this data implies, they could be either allies or threats." "What about the exotic materials?" Sloane asked. "Was there any mention of those?" Patel nodded. "Yes. The logs confirm the deposits presence on both the moons and the planets surface. The Uranians seem aware of their value as well." "Then we have no choice," Sloane said, her tone decisive. "We need to investigate. If we can recover the Transpermia II crew, we gain their firsthand knowledge. And if the Uranians are willing to negotiate " She let the thought hang, the implications clear. "Who do we send?" Vance asked. "Our fleets are stretched thin, and Earths destruction left us with limited resources." Sloanes gaze hardened. "The Solar Horizon. Theyre resource-rich and independent enough to take the risk. Frame it as an opportunity to secure a new frontier. If they succeed, well have what we need. If they fail we lose nothing." Vance and Patel exchanged uneasy glances but nodded in agreement. The decision was made. "Prepare the message," Sloane ordered. "And make it convincing. The future of Terra Form Inc. might just depend on what lies in the depths of Uranus." ---
