When asked about their football program, chuckles follow. Laughter, ke ke ...Not so fast my friends. Since 2012 , ten years of Duke slowly building their football program, I have been watching them elevate and stabalize it.
In week one they knock of ACC favorites Clemson Tigers In dominating fashion. Some how we still hear chuckles . ke ke..ha ha... when asking: Is Duke now the ACC favorites? FSU fans are definately chuckling after dismantling SEC's very own #5 LSU Tigers. Speaking of SEC, with all this confrence realignement talk, ACC has one upped the SEC in head to head games, also out of confrence ACC is leading SEC. If Duke can emerge as a power all of a sudden the ACC looks like an opposing conference.
Week 2 will be another tell tell moment in determining who has the better conference. With North Carolina State hosting Notre Dame, who by the way may become an ACC member soon could boost the ACC strength further. You also have Miami hosting Texas A&M in which I call "The Exposed Game" It is definately a statement game for both programs with the looser questioning the process. The winner will be considered the real team, and the looser may be looked at as being exposed, especially if one gets blowed out. That loosing team will question , How good are we? Even though Duke decide to cut ties with David Cuttcliff after going two years in a row with 9 losses. He did that before, but that was before he got the program used to winning, so give respect to David cuttcliff for stabilizing the Duke Blue Devils Football program. If this is true, and with FSU resurgence and Miami's up and coming, suddenly the ACC maybe more powerfull then the SEC. We just hope Clemson doesn't collapse.
